Russian-Turkish tourist crisis will last at least for two seasons, announced by ex Turkish Tourism Minister Bahattin Yujel in an interview with Hurriyet Daily News. “I think the tension between the countries will continue for some time. And the easiest way to overcome the crisis is the tourism’s development. But if you ask me how long the crisis will last, I think, at least a few seasons,” – said B. Yujel.
He also informed that the Turkish tourism industry should offset losses due to the outflow of Russian tourists. He explained that the Turkish tourism should focus on new technologies, particularly, special tours and the possibility of online reservation, considering a increasing number of independent travelers.
In addition, according to B. Yujel, the national airline – Turkish Airlines – have to expand the geography of flights, including tourist destinations. However, when we develop the tourism sector, we shouldn’t think only about the sea, sun and sand.
At the present time, the number of tourists from South America has exceeded 100 thousand persons. The Chinese and South Americans go over such a long way, it is not for swimming in the sea. They come to introduce to the ancient culture.
