Bulgur Pilaf, dried and steamed hard wheat, in Turkey often it is named “meyhane pilaf.” But the more popular name is “bulgur pilaf.” It is served as a garnish for many meat dishes. Moreover, it could be eaten separately.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of bulgur (large)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 pepper (green or red)
  • 3-5 sprigs of parsley
  •  Black pepper
  • Salt
  • Olive oil
  • 2 cups of hot water

The preparation’s method of bulgur pilaf:

Finely cut the onion, tomato and pepper. Pour 3 tablespoons of olive oil into a pan. First, fry the onion, then peppers and tomatoes. Add washed bulgur, spices, and two cups of hot water. Cook on medium heat until the water boils over. Take away from heat, sprinkle with finely chopped parsley. Wait 10 minutes and dish up hot.
