Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan during a telephone conversation with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said that he would like to meet with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin in the near future.
Russian bomber Su-24M on 24th of November was downed in Syria. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the plane was shot down by the Turkish F-16 fighter (missile “air-air”) over Syrian territory and fell down in Syria, four kilometers from the Turkish border. The Russian president named this action as a “stab in the back”, “terrorists’ aiders”.
“Erdogan confirmed the readiness to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the near future”, – said the press service of the Kazakhstan’s President.
According to the press release, it was the turkish overture, during the conversation two leaders discussed prospects of bilateral relations, also current regional and international issues. As per the report, representatives of two countries exchanged views on the situation in Syria and the incident with the Russian Su-24M. The President of Kazakhstan expressed regrets about the incident, as well as concern over the destabilization of Russian-Turkish relations.
The President explained that these relations were built over the years and nowadays both countries are responsible to keep it in touch. In this regard, until full clarification of the incident and until exactly solution, were offered to create a bilateral commission.
“Nazarbayev expressed hope that both countries will make all possible to de-escalate the situation”, – announced by the report.
