Fresh water has come to North Cyprus. Turkey has started to provide water by the 80-kilometer pipeline, which is passed into the Mediterranean Sea at a depth of 250 meters. The water is delivered to Northern Cyprus from the Turkish city Mersin. Minister of Forestry and Water Resources Veysel Eroglu said that the first delivery of fresh water by a new pipeline from Turkey to the Turkish Republic successfully came to Northern Cyprus (TRNC). According to the water project from platinum Alakёpryu which is situated on the river Dragos, Turkish city Mersin, to TRNC is planned to deliver about 75 million cubic meters of water. “We suppose that 75 million cubic meters of water will cover all the water needs of Northern Cyprus for the long time,” – said Eroglu.
