The “Big Twenty” leaders’ summit / G20 / will be held on 15-16th of November in Antalya, just in a few days.
This year Turkey chairs “Big Twenty.” The two-day summit, which will be chaired by Turkey from 15th to 16th of November, will be a meeting place for G20’s members, including US President Barack Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The leaders of the G20’s economic summit will discuss the fight against terrorism, and solutions of the refugee problem. Also will be discussed the issues of sustainable growth, investment and new climate agreement. The G20 summit is the largest international meeting, representing 66% of world population, where will take a part leaders from 19 countries and the European Commission.
G20 is an international forum of Governments’ Deans and central bank governors from 20 largest world economies, which is attended by the US, Britain, Russia, Japan, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, India, China, Indonesia Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, and the European Commission (the executive department of the EU).
Turkey took charge of the Acting Chairman in G20 last December, declared that Turkey would fight to the global inequality.
It is expected that the summit will be visited by about 13,000 people, including world leaders. “We expect that the summit will be visited from 12 to 13 thousand people. Only one American delegation usually consists of about 1,000 people. We also believe that will come about 1,500 media members. That is why the region’s hotels have already prepared for an event”, – said Antalya’s Governor Muammer Türker.
During the summit “Big Twenty” at the disposal of the delegations will be provided 46 five-star hotels in Belek.
In connection with the summit in Antalya will be increased the number of security, particularly the Antalya’s airport. The security in Belek will be provided from the air, sea and land. The security for the summit will be the police and the gendarmerie. There are 6 thousand police officers in Antalya, but will be moved more security from other cities.
Until the end of the summit Belek will be closed for tourists. Personal information’s control of hotel staff were completed.
