Turkish Society of Social Defense (SGK) has stopped cooperation with 21 private hospitals which are suspected in supporting of “parallel-banded structure”.
On 24th of December 2015 Society of Social Defense (SGK) announced that all private medical institutions are obligated to re-apply for a license. The license gives opportunity to serve with clients of social health insurance SGK.
Among all filed applications in SGK, 21 contracts with hospitals were denied. It means that access for this health care departments to system MEDULA isn’t available from 1st of January 2016. Due to this system a doctor is able to get a salary and prescribe pills. So yesterday there were registered cases when the pharmacy refused to sell pills on a doctor’s prescription from “illegal” hospitals.
According to preliminary information, all these hospitals are ties with so-called “parallel-banded structure”, which is the enemy №1 of President Erdogan. At the list was Şifa Hospital in Izmir, which was ransacked on December 2015 on hunch of Khizmat movement’s financing.

Official representatives of the Society of Social Defense (SGK) and the Ministry of Health in Turkey declined to comment this situation and will explain it after the New Year holidays.
