Orthodox church in Mahmutlar, the official name is “Cultural Center, the Association of St. George’s Orthodox Church in Alanya”, will be opened for worshipers. Soon the construction will be completed, are being made last framework steps and landscaping.
More than 5,000 Orthodox parishioners who live in Mahmutlar and the surrounding area will have the opportunity to come to church and have a full spiritual life in Muslim Turkey.
In 2014 the Alanya’s municipality, the mayor Adem Murat Yujel (Adem Murat Yucel) said that for centuries Alanya has been multinational. There was representatives of various nations and religions. Mr. Yujel said – “We name them “new Alanya’s residents”and citizens of our city.” His words were immediately showed by action. The construction of the temple were made in the shortest possible time: on July began the first work and the opening of the temple is planned on December.
A group of architects are engaged in the construction, without salary, the leadership is Athos monk and missionary – Theologos. In Alanya impatiently Orthodox inhabitants wait for this day.
