Turkey has lost more than 500 000 Russian tourists


The attendance of tourists decreased this year in the popular southern resort of Antalya. Representatives of the tourism industry reported that in the first seven months of 2015 Turkey was visited by 500,000 less Russians than for the same period last year.

In the first seven months, the number of Russian tourists in Turkey, comparing to last year decreased about from 2 million to 1.4 million. However, according to the Association of Hoteliers and investors in the Mediterranean region, the number of tourists from Germany in the period from January to July increased by 1 9% – up to 2.1 mln. people. The number of visitors from China comparing with the previous year also increased by 61% – up to 144 thousand people.

According to data published by the provincial Department of Culture and Tourism in Antalya, according to information by 15 of August about 7.2 million people arrived at the airport of Antalya and Gazipasa. At the same time, the airport of Antalya broke the record of passengers’s quantity.
