Turkey will introduce visa regime with Azerbaijan, reported by Turkish mass media.
According to the report, Turkey will introduce the visa regime also with such countries – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Tajikistan and others.
In the autumn, this year, Turkey will get a visa-free regime with the EU, and one of EU’s requirements was just the abolition of the visa free regime with the countries which don’t have such an agreement with the EU. For example, Turkey could keep the visa free regime with Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, because these countries have an agreement with the EU.
But, in any case, Ankara and Baku will find an acceptable solution to this issue. However, I can say that Azeris can visit Turkey without a visa, “- said the representative of the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
The visa regime will come into force in June 2016. It’s important to note that the introduction of visa regime by Turkey is one of the EU’s requirements.
