Turkey is the fifth trading partner of the EU. According to the European Institute for Statistics (Eurostat), in the first half of 2015, Turkey imported from the EU goods to the amount of $ 41 billions euros and exported to the amount of 30.2 billions euros.
With a total trade volume of 71.2 billions euros in Turkey became to the fifth trading partner of the EU. During the period from January to July 2015 the largest amount of EU exports to the United States was about 184 billions euros. During the same period, Europe exported goods to the amount of 84.4, 74.1 and 35.4 billions Euros to China, Switzerland and Norway. The largest volume of imports into the EU comes from China, which is the first half of the EU exported goods to the amount of 167 billions euros. During the same period, the EU imported goods from the US, Russia, Switzerland and Norway to the amount of 124.6 bln., 71.7 bln., 50.9 bln. And 38.7 bln. euro, respectively. Meanwhile, the volume of trade between Turkey and the EU increase every year. In 2009 it was 80.9 bln., In 2010 – 104.6 bln., In 2011 – 121.5 bln., In 2012 – 124 bln., In 2013 – 128.1 bln., and in 2014 – 128.8 bln. euro.
