Last weekend, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Chavushoglu met with Russian citizens who live in the province of Antalya, led to believe them that in the near future a crisis between Turkey and Russia will be over.
On Saturday, 5th of November, Chavushoglu, who was born in Antalya, met with Russian citizens in Alanya and told them that Russia is our friend and trading partner. The Minister also informed that last week in Belgrade, he had a meeting with Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, and they discussed the “Su-24” incident.
“Soon we will overcome this tension. I expect that we will be able to continue our relationship. The meeting with Lavrov in Belgrade helped to take a positive way. We should continue the communication to resolve disagrees. We should avoid lying. In relations with Russia, there is only the truth, “- said Chavushoglu.
He also doesn’t agree with law against Turkish citizens in Russia after the incident with the Russian plane.
The meeting’s organizers – the leaders of the Commerce’s Chamber in Alanya (Alanya Ticaret ve Sanayi Odası, ALTSO) – gathered Russian citizens living in Alanya and the city’s leaders for breakfast in the cozy lounge restaurant «Filika» (Cleopatra Beach). The Alanya’s governor Dr Hasan Tanriseven, Mayor Adem Murat Yujel, the chief of the Police Department and other leaders, business representatives and civil society organizations took part at the meeting. Spokesmen said many kind and friendly words to the Russians and the foreign citizens living in Alanya.
“I am confident that we will resolve all the problems in the near future because Russia is our neighbor and a good partner. We are not only friends, but we are trading partners, and we have a lot of collaborative projects”, – made the conclusion the Foreign Minister of Turkey.
During the meeting the head of the Association of Russian-speaking compatriots in Alanya (ARDID) Angelica Angela said that Turkey and Russia are friends and no one will be able to destroy their friendship.
